A RAB Products solution

A guest-friendly resort directory and navigation tool that helps people find places, recognize destinations, and understand how to get there.

“I’d like a better way to navigate this resort.”— Stacy, during our stay in Puerto Morelos
The origin
During a stay at El Cid Resorts Riviera Maya, Stacy looked at the size and complexity of the property and said something very simple: “I’d like a better way to navigate this resort.”
That sentence became My Resort Locator.
What started as a practical way to find restaurants, pools, lobbies, and other destinations grew into a broader guest directory—combining searchable locations, maps, photographs, resort information, and verified walking paths where available.
The first working implementation was conceived, built, refined, and field-tested on-site in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. The property provided the real-world environment in which MRL could be tested against the problems guests actually encounter.
What it does
The feature list is deliberately broad because the problem is broader than a pin on a map.
Restaurants, pools, bars, lobbies, services, scenic spots, activities, buildings and other useful destinations.
Guest-friendly pins, labels, satellite context, map framing, and location recognition.
Saved paths are used when they have been established, and the same connection works in either direction.
If no walking path is known, MRL points toward the destination without pretending a straight line is a walkable route.
Visual references help guests recognize a café, office, gate, pool, scenic pier, restaurant, or service point.
Hours and practical details can be surfaced where useful, while weekly or changing schedules can be treated as such.
The guest can choose a language at the start and use the directory in the language that works best for the stay.
Outdoor GPS can establish where the guest is before a destination is chosen.
Frequently used destinations can stay easy to reach during a multi-day stay.
A guest can keep a room/home endpoint available for returning to a familiar point.
Scenic locations and useful services make MRL a resort directory, not merely a routing screen.
Property-side tools support position corrections, route review, verification, photographs, and changing information.
Field-tested
MRL was repeatedly checked against actual guest movement, map and satellite references, photographs, resort information, and on-site walking observations. That process exposed an important rule: proximity on a map does not prove a walkable connection.

Recognition matters
The first MRL implementation demonstrated how destination photography can complement maps and routing without turning the product into a marketing catalog.

For the property
The Owner workspace separates the guest experience from the work required to keep a directory trustworthy: location correction, route review, verification, photos, and information that changes over time.
A destination can be correctly located while the path to it is still unknown. Two places can appear close together while a wall, pool, road, building, or restricted area makes the obvious line unusable.
MRL is designed to preserve that distinction rather than fabricate confidence.
